SPOORAY is a special kind of E-wallet mobile app, designed for entertainment needs.

SPOORAY facilitates the creation and sending of congratulatory messages for events or special occasions by utilizing tools like images, giphy and video messages accompanied by a monetary gift.

Customer Challenge

SPOORAY is running their manually provisioned platform in AWS Cloud. They are running an infrastructure which lacks:

  • Scalability – Application is hosted on single EC2 server
  • Security – No security patching or upgrade and open access to production systems of all tech team.
  • Encryption – Encryption at rest missing
  • DevOps – Lacking CI/CD
  • Cost – oversize EC2 and RDS
  • Vendor Isolation – Keeping the vendors isolated

SPOORAY wanted a secure cost-effective solution with high availability and low-latency performance.

SUDO Solution

The overall aim is to deploy a modern AWS infrastructure to host Spooray Mobile Backend services. The solution should allow Spooray operations team to deploy new accounts on demand and also scale up and scale down easily during marketing events on production. The system described here utilizes modular approach in enabling automation and orchestration of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offering. Key modularity aspect of the system is clear separation between infrastructure management and cloud service management layers.

The separation will be on dedicated development, R&D and production environments. The production will be distributed between with Multi-AZ auto-scaling, load balanced and monitored. The security aspect will follow AWS Well-Architected  framework best practices. The instances and RDS will be resized based on utilization validation over past 3-6 month.
